Maria Gondek (b. 1985) is a Danish artist living and working in Glasgow, Scotland. Her works are site- and situation specific and reflect their immediate surroundings as well as the implicit historical and social narratives. In an overlap of Life-Hack-Engineering and DIY-Phenomenology Gondek utilizes kinetics in the broadest sense of the word to fabricate apparatuses, instruments, systems and installations in a continuous state of transition.

Recent exhibitions include 'Sammenskudsgilde', KOLONIEN III, DK (2019); 'Beacon', Caustic Coastal, UK (2018); 'So Natural', Like a little Disaster, IT (2017). Gondek graduated from Gerrit Rietveld Academy (NL) and has received MFAs from Glasgow School of Art (UK) and School of the Damned (UK).
