Maria Koshenkova works with sculptures and installations.
While her main media is glass, she also uses other media as well (drawings, found objects, photos/videos etc.) depending on the concept she is working on. She believes that glass has completely unique and controversial sculptural and physical qualities.
Maria’s practice explores the vulnerable frontier between existing and non-existing worlds, through her choice of material she establishes a concrete but fragile balance between the real and the abstract.
She is a graduate from State Academy of Art and Design in St. Petersburg, Russia, Glass Design Program at Kalmar University, Sweden and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art, Copenhagen. Denmark
Maria's artwork has been exhibited in several international galleries and museums, such as Glass Museum Ebeltoft, Denmark, Art & Minde Center, Nagoya, Japan and Aasiaat Katersugaasiviat / Aasiaat Museum, Greenland.
