“Raumflucht” Ida Nissen 1-25.09.2016
Cph Art Week is taking over the city from August 26th to September 4th and we are really excited to be part of the programme.
Cph Art Week is dedicated to the contemporary Danish art scene, showcasing a wide selection of bright talents. At SIRIN we are always on the lookout for new emerging artists, as art is an important part of our identity. We are happy to announce that this time we are welcoming the artist Ida Nissen who will present her book Raumflucht published by Norwegian publishing house Heavy Books.
Ida Nissen is a Danish artist, who lives and works in Copenhagen. She received a BFA in Photography from the University of Gothenburg in 2015 and is known for working with analogue processes. Using the camera and the darkroom, she is exploring the idea of a photographic space. The artist presents three different ideas or dimensions where a photographic space can exist. She strips her photographs for narratives and specific reference points and creates abstract images that challenge compositional and formal ideas and how to put meaning in to pictures.
The exhibitions will run from the 26th of August to September 17th.
We will host a special reception in presence of the artist on Thursday the 1st of September from 16:00 to 19:00.
