"Revival of Egyptian Revival" Oscar Yran May 25, 2018

We are excited to announce that this year again, we will be participating in Copenhagen Art Week. This time we will present the exhibition “Revival of Egyptian Revival” by the Norwegian artist Oscar Yran. The project is part of the artist’s solo exhibition “Synthetic Horizon” at Frederiksberg-based gallery OK Corral.

Oscar Yran studied at the Funen Art Academy and he works in a multitude of techniques. His artistic vision revolves around the ideas about art, craft and the production of meaning.

The piece “Revival of Egyptian Revival” is an appropriation of the European furniture fashion “Egyptian Revival”. The artist wishes to explore how cultural expressions relate to national identities and ownership of specific styles or techniques.
